Brownie Cookies

from thepioneerwoman.com
When you crave two different treats but you don't want to go through the hassle of making them both, YOU COMBINE FORCES AND MAKE BROWNIE COOKIES!!  They melt in your mouth and disappear even quicker from the tray!  (Especially if you have little hands helping in the kitchen...)
I N G R E D I E N T S
--2 sticks softened butter
--2 cups sugar
--2 oz. bittersweet chocolate
--3 large eggs NOT PICTURED
--1 tbsp. vanilla NOT PICTURED
--2 1/4 cups flour
--1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
--1 tsp. baking powder
--1/2 tsp. salt
--powdered sugar, for topping
--Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  In a microwave safe bowl, put the 2 oz. chocolate in the microwave and in 20 second intervals melt chocolate until smooth.  Set aside and let cool.
--In the bowl of an electric mixer, put in the sugar and butter and mix until creamed.
--Add in the cooled chocolate and mix to combine.
 --This consistency is perfect!
--Sorry the eggs were not pictured, but add in the 3 eggs, mixing in between each one.
 --Aaaaaaaand here's the vanilla.  Sorry!
--Add in the tablespoon and mix to combine.
--In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
--In small amounts, with the mixer on low, mix in the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until it's all combined.
--This consistency is beautiful.  Try to refrain from tasting the batter because you may find yourself eating it all!
--With a cookie scooper, place the cookies on a baking sheet (this one is nonstick, but I still sprayed Pam anyway, just in case!)
--Bake for 11 minutes, until the tops of the cookies begin to crackle.  They may seem a little undercooked, so keep them on the cookie sheets for another 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
--After they've cooled, and this is optional, top the cookies with a sprinkling of powdered sugar to represent the brownie side of these cookies.
--You can choose to sprinkle on a little...or a lot!
--It's alright to get sugar all over the kitchen.
--It's also alright to eat these when they're still hot!  They may not keep their shape LOL
--This is them after settling a bit.  To die for!
--I think she's more to die for though.  Just saying.
 --"Thank you Auntie Jazzy!!"
 --No, no, thank YOU Naomi!
XOXO
